Position Summary:
A Project Coordinator at Virginia Farm Bureau is responsible for managing schedules, coordinating communications, creating and maintaining project documents, and providing leadership support to the acting Project Manager.
Primary Duties
  • Responsible for the active oversight assigned project, evaluating progress and quality, as well as managing issue and risk resolution, and taking corrective action as necessary.
  • Assists in measuring and reporting unbiased project progress to management.
  • Ability to collect and analyze complete data.
  • Ability to prepare and conduct effective presentations.
  • Ensures user stories and bugs are adequately defined and uniformly understood.
  • Leads a variety of project meetings, ensuring meetings are productive and effective, documentation is performed whether in the form of minutes, Mural board or Confluence updates.
  • Demonstrated ability to articulate and resolve all delegated problems with minimal assistance from management.
  • Coordinate project scheduling activities, including identifying project task dependencies and resource requirements, and assessing project risks/mitigation strategy all while adhering to business and strategic priorities.
  • Responsible for updating, tracking and reporting results from Jira.
  • Ability to solely manage small or sub projects.
  • Builds and maintains a positive and professional relationship with internal Virginia Farm Bureau and Countryway customers as well as with vendors.
  • As needed create, or participate in the creation of test plans.
  • As needed create, or participate in the creation of project or process documentation.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems / Computer Science / Business or equivalent experience
  • 2 years business analysis experience
  • Experience in project management methodologies like Agile or Waterfall
  • CAPM designation, preferred
  • Experience working on Agile projects or initiatives
  • Proficient in project management tools such as Jira, Confluence, Mural or MS Project
  • Property and Casualty insurance experience
  • Experience using the Finys Insurance Processing System, preferred
