Job Title: Project Manager II Customer Success, Implementations
Location: Cambridge and Waltham, MA (On-Site at 2 locations)
Job Type: Contract-To-Hire
Length: 6 - 9 months with convert to hire based on performance
Hours Monday-Friday 7am-4pm EST (Flexible 8 hours/day)
Overtime: yes, as approved
Travel: up to 75% domestic
Pay Rate: $45 - $50 per hour based on experience
Job Description:
The Project Manager II Customer Success, Implementations oversees the project management and implementation of service opportunities. This role is pivotal in completing new processes, standards, or operational plans. The Project Manager II manages customer projects by coordinating resources and ensuring execution, while providing oversight and subject matter expertise through project management practices. This position supports Advanced Lab Services and collaborates with internal teams, customers, and vendors to deliver high-quality results. This role is working to do onsite service implementations for their labs.
Main Purpose:
- Lead the planning, coordination, and execution of onsite customer service implementations, laboratory and production relocations, and related operational transition projects.
- Interdependencies: Collaborates with cross-functional teams (Lab & Production Services, Supply Chain, Operations, EHS, IT, Facilities), customers, and external vendors to ensure seamless project delivery and minimal disruption to operations.
- Oversees and completes the implementation of new processes, standards, or operational plans.
- Provides subject matter expertise in areas such as project management, onsite service opportunities, project scope definition, risk identification, project methodology, resource allocation, and facilitation.
Responsibilities:
- Lead end-to-end management of service implementation and relocation projects, including scoping, planning, execution, and post-project review.
- Develop comprehensive project plans, risk assessments, and timelines aligned with customer goals and company standards.
- Coordinate cross-functional teams to ensure project success.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for the customer throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring transparency and accountability.
- Manage all aspects of project logistics equipment moves, lab setups, material transfers, staffing coordination, and vendor alignment.
- Identify and mitigate potential risks and constraints to project.
- Conduct site assessments and readiness evaluations with stakeholders to align goals, objectives, and deliverables prior to implementation or relocation activities.
- Prepare and deliver project documentation, including status reports, dashboards, budget updates, closure reports, and project summaries.
- Ensure compliance with all safety, regulatory, and quality requirements during relocations and implementations.
- Analyze recurring but varied project-related problems, including timelines, stakeholder expectations, and risk assessments.
- Communicate with parties within and outside of own discipline or department.
- May manage vendor relationships, including conducting planning sessions with vendors and service providers to define project scope and performance expectations.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
KPIs:
- Projects completed on time, within scope and budget.
- Customer satisfaction scores.
- Compliance with safety, regulatory, and quality standards.
- Effective risk mitigation and issue resolution.
- Quality and timeliness of project documentation.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree.
- PMP Certification.
- Must have lab support operations experience.
- Must be willing to travel.
- 1-3 years of experience managing service delivery, implementation, or relocation projects, preferably in laboratory, life sciences, or manufacturing environments.
- Demonstrated success leading projects with cross-functional stakeholders and customer interaction.
- Professional knowledge and background in project management, project scope definition, risk identification, project methodology, resource allocation, and facilitation.
- Proven understanding of lab support operations and materials management.
- Familiarity with EHS, supply chain logistics, facility readiness, GxP, and quality management requirements beneficial.
- Skilled in Microsoft Office.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, presentation, and customer engagement skills.
- Strong operational, logistical, and customer relationship skills.
- Ability to analyze a variety of project-related factors, including timelines, stakeholder expectations, and risk assessments.
- Ability to adapt project methodologies to fit evolving business needs.
- Ability to communicate with parties within and outside of own discipline or department.
Working Conditions:
Work is performed in a mix of office, laboratory, warehouse, and customer site environments with normal range of temperature and noise levels. May involve occasional lifting, walking, or standing during on-site relocations or equipment validations. Domestic travel may be required up to 75%, especially during major implementation or relocation phases. May require working non-standard hours to accommodate project milestones or site availability.
