Who We Are
Picogrid is a leading venture-backed defense technology company founded to bridge the decades-long gap between modern technology and the critical demands of national security. Today, we're building the essential infrastructure to unify sensors, autonomy, and operators with our technology deployed in active operations around the world. Our mission is to deliver an operational advantage to secure the United States and its allies.
Role Overview
We're hiring a Chief of Staff to partner directly with the CEO and executive team to drive company-wide initiatives across operations, growth, and product. This role is both strategic and executional—you'll help define Picogrid's long-term direction while ensuring today's priorities get done with precision and speed.
You'll sit at the center of the company's most critical decisions, managing relationships with investors and government partners, and ensuring the organization scales without losing momentum. The ideal candidate thrives in high-pressure environments and executes relentlessly.
Responsibilities
  • Work directly with the CEO to plan, prioritize, and execute key initiatives across the company
  • Lead cross-functional projects requiring coordination between engineering, operations, and government stakeholders.
  • Support executive decision-making through structured analysis, data-driven insights, and strong operational rigor.
  • Manage key communications—board materials, investor updates, and strategic documents for partners and government agencies.
  • Identify bottlenecks and implement scalable systems and processes.
  • Represent the CEO in high-stakes internal and external meetings.
  • Act as a force multiplier for leadership—anticipating needs, resolving issues early, and ensuring organizational alignment.
Qualifications
  • Experience in defense technology, aerospace, or a similarly complex operational environment.
  • Strong understanding of government policy, acquisition, or program management at a fast-paced technology company.
  • Proven ability to execute complex, cross-functional projects under tight deadlines.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including experience preparing executive-level documents and briefings.
  • High discretion and sound judgment with sensitive information.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a bias toward action—comfortable operating in ambiguity and building structure where none exists.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Former founder or early employee at a venture-backed tech company
  • Experience in product development or operations
  • Background in government policy or defense acquisition
Compensation And Benefits
  • Meaningful stock options with a high potential upside as an early-stage company

  • Unlimited PTO (two-week minimum) and 11 paid holidays per year
  • Paid parental leave for both parents
  • Complimentary lunch and stocked kitchenette when in-office
  • Free EV charging on-site.
