Title: Chief Operating Officer (COO)

Position Overview: We are seeking an experienced, strategic, people-centric, and operationally minded Chief Operating Officer (COO) to serve as a trusted partner to the CEO, balancing strategic vision with pragmatic execution and fostering alignment across all levels of the organization during a period of transformative growth and brand evolution. As a key member of the executive team, the COO will oversee the day-to-day operations of a fast-growing company that partners with real estate developers to design and deliver community-building, placemaking, and lifestyle programming across diverse properties. We are searching for a dynamic leader who can build scalable systems, drive operational excellence, and champion a culture of collaboration, innovation, and accountability. Key Responsibilities


Strategic Business Unit Leadership

  • Lead and oversee the daily operations of OnPlace ensuring alignment with company vision and values.
  • Translate vision into operational systems, structures, and processes.
  • Develop and implement systems that support operational scalability and consistency across all markets.
  • Develop and optimize internal systems, processes, and KPIs in collaboration with the leadership team to support rapid growth.
  • Partner with the CEO to balance bold growth with disciplined execution and agility.
  • Foster synergy between business units to create seamless, high-impact client and resident experiences.
  • Building an empowered, high performing team-ecosystem, aligned with OnPlace values
  • Create and manage budgets, forecasts, client relationships, and resource allocation to ensure profitability.
  • Collaborate with client service and sales teams to ensure program delivery meets client exceeds expectations and contractual obligations.


Team & Culture Development

  • Manage and mentor business unit leaders, ensuring they are empowered, supported, and aligned with OnPlace's strategic goals.
  • Champion company values, mission and the mindset grounded in service, accountability, and innovation.
  • Drive employee engagement initiatives that elevate team morale, retention, and performance nationwide.


Operational Excellence & Growth Enablement

  • Standardize operational frameworks, tools, and reporting systems to improve efficiency and decision-making.
  • Collaborate with the CEO and executive team on strategic priorities, while owning the execution of operational strategies and ensuring cross-functional accountability.
  • Ensure consistent quality of service delivery while preparing teams for continued scale.
  • Translate OnPlace's brand refresh into operational execution, ensuring that the new brand identity is reflected in service delivery, client experiences, and internal culture.


Client & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Maintain strong relationships with clients, developers, asset managers, and community partners.
  • Support business development by ensuring operational readiness, compelling service offerings, and strong references.
  • Represent OnPlace at key industry events and meetings as needed.


Experience & Background

  • 10+ years of senior operational leadership in a service-based business (e.g., real estate services, hospitality, amenity management, or lifestyle brands).
  • Experience as a strong trusted partner to a dynamic CEO
  • Proven success scaling multi-unit teams across regional or national markets.
  • Experience managing P&L responsibilities and high-performance teams.
  • Track record of leading employee engagement and development initiatives, cross functional systems and change with measurable results
  • Proven expertise leading organizations through significant structural and cultural change, with the ability to build trust, manage resistance, and drive adoption of new systems, processes, and ways of working.
  • Strong background in multi-site, client-facing program delivery, with proven ability to manage logistics, people, and brand consistency at scale.
  • Experience with remote or hybrid teams and managing distributed staff across locations.
  • Bachelors degree in business, operations, finance, real estate, or other related field; MBA preferred.

Additional Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required, preferably in Business Administration, Operations Management, Urban Planning, Real Estate, Hospitality Management, or a related field.
  • Advanced degree (MBA, MPA, MS in Organizational Leadership, or similar) is strongly preferred, particularly if focused on strategic leadership, systems thinking, or social innovation.
  • Certifications in project management, change management, or executive leadership a plus. 
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Must pass to a background and drug screen.
