The Private Credit Associate will join Leon Healthcare Credit Partners (LHCP), the dedicated healthcare credit platform within Leon Capital Group Direct Investments. LHCP provides tailored credit solutions to lower-middle-market healthcare companies, typically those with $1–15MM of EBITDA and $10–50MM in transaction size, to support growth, recapitalization, and strategic transformation. The team leverages deep healthcare operating experience, proprietary sourcing relationships, and institutional credit underwriting discipline to generate equity-like returns with the downside protection of credit. The Associate will play a hands-on role across all stages of investment, execution, and platform-building.

Key Responsibilities:
Investment Execution & Underwriting:
- Lead and support underwriting of new private credit opportunities across healthcare subsectors, including corporate lending, structured credit, and hybrid capital investments.
- Conduct detailed company, industry, and financial analysis, including reviewing data rooms, market research, expert calls, and third-party diligence.
- Build and maintain robust financial models and cash-flow projections; assess downside and sensitivity scenarios.
- Prepare and present investment memoranda and recommendations to the Investment Committee.
- Support term sheet structuring, negotiation, and documentation of definitive agreements.
Portfolio Management & Platform Building:
- Monitor portfolio company performance, covenant compliance, and financial reporting.
- Contribute to building and refining LHCP's internal toolkit, from pipeline management and underwriting workflows to internal systems and reporting processes.
- Coordinate with LCG's broader platform to leverage cross-functional insights into healthcare company operations, growth, and risk mitigation.
- Contribute to ongoing platform build-out, strategy development, and pipeline tracking.
Qualifications:
- 2–5 years of experience in investment banking, direct lending, private equity, or credit-focused asset management.
- Advanced analytical and technical skills with a strong command of accounting and corporate finance principles.
- Demonstrated experience driving execution, whether through deal processes, strategic initiatives, or operating projects.
- Experience leveraging AI tools and technology platforms to enhance productivity and decision-making.
- Proven ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communicator with a data-driven approach to problem solving and a bias for action.
- Team-oriented, entrepreneurial mindset with a strong sense of ownership.
- Bachelor's degree from a leading academic institution; outstanding academic and professional track record.
- Willingness to relocate to New York and work in-person, five days per week at our office.
