r****About This Role****

The 4-H Military Partnership Outreach and Support Project (4-HMPOS),

within the College of Health and Human Sciences, is seeking a **Project

Consultant** to join their team. This position will be responsible for

managing activities related to one or more military service branches

involved in the 4-H Military Partnership Project. This includes

organizing, planning, leading, and facilitating project tasks; refining

project plans and timelines; managing finances within budgets,

contracts, or grants; and handling external relations and publicity.

This position reports to the Project Director.

Specific Duties Include, But Are Not Limited To

  • Collaborate with Land Grant University (LGU) sub-awardees and

military partners to determine topics, priorities, and delivery

structure of professional development and technical assistance

(PDTA) for 4-H programs aimed at military-connected youth and

professionals

  • Deliver PDTA to both LGU and military professionals
  • Utilize expertise of and collaborate closely with participating

LGUs, military partners, and representatives of intended audiences

to analyze data, identify needs, and support development of

educational programs

  • Develop and deliver educational information for state 4-H Military

Liaisons, military child and youth program professionals, and other

interested parties to support the project\'s mission

  • Support LGU staff in understanding learning strategies related to

military systems and culture

  • Collect, analyze, and report on the impact of efforts as a

consultant to LGU and military child and youth program professionals

  • Assist in reviewing all Request for Award (RFA) applications for

funding received through NIFA/USDA and sub-awarded to other Land

Grant Universities (LGUs)

  • Serve on project committees and as a representative for the project

at meetings and conferences, as assigned

****Worksite Description****

This position is **Hybrid eligible**.

All employees must reside in the United States when they begin working

to comply with state law. K-State is unable to provide remote or hybrid

work opportunities for residents of the state of Idaho.

****What You\'ll Need to Succeed****

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor\'s degree
  • *An educational equivalency of four years of relevant experience

may be used in place of a bachelor\'s degree*

  • Three years of relevant experience
  • Must hold a valid passport and have the ability to travel in and out

of the United States

  • Must hold a valid driver\'s license, be able to operate a rental

car, and not have a criminal record that would bar entry into a US

military installation

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master\'s degree in a related field such as youth development,

education, social work, family studies, or human services

  • 5 years of experience in delivering professional development and

technical assistance

  • Demonstrated knowledge of 4-H programming and positive youth

development principles

  • Experience with best practices in adult education
  • Understanding of Military Child and Youth Programs
  • Ability to app y critical thinking to analyze, interpret, and

develop work plans based on data and feedback

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Ability to prioritize workload with minimal supervision
  • High level of attention to detail
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite (including Excel, Word, PowerPoint,

Publisher, and MS Teams), internet search engines, email, electronic

calendars, and project management and marketing software

  • Demonstrated strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication

  • Reliable and adaptable team player dedicated to achieving both

  • Prompt and professional response to all requests
  • Ability to exercise discretion when handling confidential

information and materials

Additional Role Information

  • Occasional in-state and out-of-state travel is required up to 10

times per year to attend/present at trainings and conferences.

Additional travel within or outside the state may be required

depending on the approved scope of work for the funding year(s).
