A well-known college in Atlanta, we are representing, is seeking a dynamic and strategic Chief of Staff to serve as a key partner to the President and a catalyst for institutional progress. This executive-level leader will help advance the College's mission by ensuring seamless operations within the Office of the President, driving strategic initiatives, and strengthening internal and external relationships.
Acting as a trusted advisor, the Chief of Staff will coordinate major priorities, support cross-campus collaboration, and ensure information flows efficiently to and from the President. The role also includes significant work in communication, crisis response, project management, and institutional visibility. The Chief of Staff will travel with the President and represent the President's Office at high-level engagements.
This position serves on the College's Executive Committee.

Key Responsibilities
Executive Leadership & Strategic Alignment
- Serve as the President's designee during absences.
- Translate the President's priorities into actionable plans, guiding senior leaders and internal stakeholders toward implementation.
- Manage cross-departmental initiatives that support institutional transformation and alignment with strategic goals.
- Act as a liaison between the President and the Board of Trustees, government officials, alumni, faculty, staff, and community partners.
- Partner with Marketing & Communications to shape and execute major presidential communications, speeches, and public messaging.
- Respond on behalf of the President to inquiries from students, employees, and external constituents.
- Direct daily operations of the Office of the President, including supervision of administrative staff and management of the office budget.
- Lead and monitor high-priority, complex projects; ensure accountability for timelines, resources, and outcomes.
- Develop briefings, presentations, reports, and data-driven recommendations for the President and senior leadership.
- Support the President's fundraising activities and donor engagement efforts.
- Coordinate and support events and initiatives that enhance the College's visibility and community presence.
- Participate in accreditation processes and serve on the Emergency Management Team.
- Conduct research, analysis, and special studies to support organizational decision-making.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the President.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in higher education
- At least 2 years of demonstrated success in high-pressure or fast-paced executive settings.
- Strong understanding of major higher education operational areas (e.g., enrollment, finance) preferred.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills suitable for executive-level audiences.
- Proven ability to build trust, foster collaboration, and motivate senior stakeholders.
- Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously.
- Strategic thinker capable of translating vision into execution.
- Flexible, proactive, and resourceful problem-solver with sound judgment.
- Professional, collegial, and adept at handling confidential information.
