We are partnered with a leading pharmaceutical and biotechnology manufacturer seeking a Project Manager / Engineer to lead a large-scale facility expansion and equipment installation project at a GMP-regulated manufacturing site in Arizona.


This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced engineering project manager who enjoys managing complex capital projects, utility installations, and technical deliverables within a regulated life sciences environment.


Responsibilities:

  • Plan and execute engineering and construction projects supporting site expansion and equipment modernization.
  • Manage day-to-day project execution including scheduling, budgeting, vendor coordination, and contractor oversight.
  • Lead installation and qualification of process and utility systems such as HVAC, WFI, pure steam, and clean compressed gases.
  • Coordinate with engineering, validation, quality, and EHS teams to ensure technical readiness and GMP compliance.
  • Review design drawings, specifications, and equipment layouts for accuracy and constructability.
  • Develop and maintain project documentation (URS, design specifications, FAT/SAT, IQ/OQ protocols, meeting minutes, and progress reports).
  • Oversee commissioning and qualification (CQV) activities for new systems and equipment.
  • Manage change controls, deviations, and project closeout deliverables.
  • Identify and mitigate technical and schedule risks to maintain project momentum and budget targets.


Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering
  • 5–10 years of experience in engineering project management, capital projects, or facility expansions within pharmaceutical, biotech, or CDMO environments.
  • Deep understanding of GMP facility design, clean utilities, and aseptic manufacturing systems.
  • Hands-on experience leading construction and equipment installation projects in a regulated manufacturing setting.
  • PMP certification preferred; Professional Engineer (PE) license a plus.
