About The Role:
Learning Development Services (LDS) play a pivotal role developing academically credible, business relevant distance learning courses, using learning technologies to enhance student experience and to help equip students with the skills fit for 21st century employment. With a truly diverse, international student population, we provide the opportunity and flexibility that students need to be successful in their studies.
Apprenticeship Distance Learning Tutor - Corporate Responsibility and Sustainability Apprenticeship with Certificate in Higher Education Level 4 (Part-time, flexible contract, UK home-based)
We are seeking a Distance Learning Tutor to deliver on the module Sustainability and Environmental Performance and Risk Management, which forms part of our new online HE Certificate Corporate Responsibility and Sustainability Practitioner course for apprentices.
Key Responsibilities:
Hours are set each trimester based on cohort size and module credit value. The delivery rate is £50.26 per hour (including marking). For example, a 30-credit module with 15–18 students would typically equate to a 78-hour contract. Please note: this module does not run every trimester.
Course delivery is due to start in February 2026, with the Sustainability and Environmental Performance and Risk Management module scheduled to commence in May 2026. Prior to this, the successful candidate will be required as soon as possible to support module content development. Content development work is contracted separately at a rate of £20.10 per hour.
Interviews for this post are likely to be held during week commencing 26 January 2026.

We are seeking a Distance Learning Tutor to deliver on the module Sustainability and Environmental Performance and Risk Management, which forms part of our new online HE Certificate Corporate Responsibility and Sustainability Practitioner course for apprentices.

- Deliver online sessions, including workshops and lectures, over a 12-week trimester to provide deeper insight, discussion, and practical application of course concepts.
- Manage the delivery and support of the module materials that learner's access and complete on their own schedule, including posting weekly announcements, facilitating discussion posts, coordinating online activities, and responding to student enquiries via email.
- Support apprentices as they progress through their self-paced learning materials, ensuring a high-quality and engaging learning experience.
- Complete marking of 1 st attempt and resubmissions scripts.
- Processes, data needs, and reporting requirements of industry recognised environmental and social standards and quality assurance methods, e.g:
- Environmental Impact Assessment, Environmental Management Systems, Sustainability Assessment, Social Impact Assessment
- SDG's
- BCorp, Global Reporting Initiative, Business in the Community, Sustainable Accounting Standards Board, Task-force on Climate related Financial Disclosures, Carbon Disclosure Project
- Social Mobility Employer Index, Stonewall Workplace Equality Index
- Methods of collecting and evaluating data to determine company performance
- Methods of assessing risk and reporting to stakeholders
